The 175th Anniversary of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. On June 30th 1830, The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company was born when the brand new vessel ‘Mona's Isle' sailed from Douglas to Liverpool on its very first sailing - 175 years ago. Fittingly the first coin in this two coin series depicts the stunning ‘Mona's Isle' and the ‘' which translated means ‘Women (of) my heart'. The second coin in this striking historical two coin set, shows the ‘King Orry III' having been given the considerable honour of leading the German Fleet into Scapa Flow for its final surrender. These two coins are expertly crafted historical coins which mark the progression of the communication channels between the Isle of Man and adjacent Islands.
